Redmi Pad SE (Wi-Fi) : 11.0-inch FHD+ Display, 8000mAh Battery, 8GB RAM with 128GB Storage – Know the Price

Redmi Pad SE has quickly become one of the most interesting budget tablets for Indian buyers with its mix of entertainment-friendly features and aggressive pricing. Launched in July 2024 alongside Redmi Pad Pro, it targets students, casual users, and families who want a reliable big-screen device without stretching their budget.

Build and Design

Redmi Pad SE

Redmi Pad SE is designed using a metal unibody shell and slim profile measuring about 255.5 x 167.1 x 7.4 mm and weighs around 478 g. The thickness under 7.5 mm helps it feel sleek in the hand, while the weight is balanced so it can be held in landscape mode for watching videos or attending online classes without excessive strain.

The tablet uses a glass front with an aluminium back and aluminium frame, which gives it a more refined in-hand feel than typical plastic-bodied budget tablets. The finish is matte rather than glossy, helping resist fingerprints and smudges during long usage sessions.

Display and Resolution

Redmi Pad SE

Redmi Pad SE features an 11.0-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels in a 16:10 aspect ratio. This delivers around 207 pixels per inch, which is sharp enough for reading text-heavy content like PDFs, e-books, and notes without visible pixelation at normal viewing distances.

The 16:10 ratio gives slightly more vertical space than a traditional 16:9 panel, making it more comfortable for split-screen multitasking and browsing. Pad supports up to a 90 Hz refresh rate on its display which makes scrolling through apps, social feeds, and websites feel noticeably smoother and more responsive.

The display offers a typical brightness of about 400 nits, which is adequate for indoor use in homes, classrooms, and offices. The screen includes TÜV Rheinland low blue light and flicker-free certifications, aimed at reducing eye strain during long study or binge-watching sessions.

Processor and Software

Redmi Pad SE

Redmi Pad SE uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 processor built on a 6 nm process, with an octa-core CPU configuration of four performance-focused Kryo 265 Gold cores at up to 2.4 GHz and four efficiency-focused Kryo 265 Silver cores at up to 1.9 GHz.

Graphics are handled by the Adreno 610 GPU, which is capable of casual and mid-level gaming at moderate settings.

Redmi Pad SE ships with Android 13 out of the box, running Xiaomi’s MIUI Pad 14 interface tailored for larger screens.

Memory and Storage

Redmi Pad SE

Redmi Pad SE features three RAM configurations: 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of LPDDR4X memory. All variants come with 128GB eMMC 5.1 internal storage. Pad support microSDXC card for storage expansion up to 1TB.

The Redmi Pad SE sold in India does not support cellular connectivity hence Wi-Fi-only tablet options are available in india.

Battery and Charging

Redmi Pad SE

Redmi Pad SE packs an 8000mAh Li-Po battery, which supports extended sessions without frequent recharges, often lasting 14 hours of video playback or up to 43 days on standby under ideal conditions.

Redmi Pad SE supports up to 18W fast charging via USB Type-C, though it typically ships with a 10 W charger in the box. With the included 10W charger, a full charge from 0-100% takes around 4 hours, gaining just 15% in the first 30 minutes.

Switching to a compatible 18W Quick Charge 3.0 adapter reduces charging time to about 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Camera and Audio

Redmi Pad SE

Redmi Pad SE features a single 8 MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus, acting as a standard wide lens. The rear camera records video at up to 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second, which is sufficient for basic recordings, project clips, or sharing quick walkthroughs.

On the front, the tablet carries a 5 MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture, positioned in the middle of the longer edge for landscape video calls. The front camera also supports 1080p video recording at 30 fps, providing a clear enough picture for most conferencing needs and remote learning sessions.

The tablet features four stereo speakers positioned to fire sound from both the top and bottom edges, creating a surround effect that works well in both portrait and landscape orientations. Dolby Atmos support enhances spatial audio, making voices clearer and effects more dynamic for OTT content and other videos.

Connectivity Options

Redmi Pad SE supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) via 802.11, ensuring stable connections for streaming, online classes, and downloads on modern routers. Bluetooth 5.0 enables seamless pairing with wireless earphones, keyboards, mice, and controllers for enhanced productivity and gaming.

A 3.5 mm headphone jack offers wired audio connectivity, complementing the quad speakers for private listening during travel or study. USB Type-C 2.0 serves as the primary port for charging, data transfer, and connecting peripherals like USB drives or OTG adapters. Sensors include accelerometer, virtual ambient light, and Hall sensor for auto-rotation and case detection.
